✅ Age Limit (as on
01.07.2025):
- General (Others): 18–32 years for most posts; 21–32
years for Village Administrative Officer, Forest Guard, Forest Guard with
Driving Licence, Forest Watcher, and Forest Watcher (Tribal Youth).
- Reserved Categories (BC/MBC/SC/ST): 18–34 years (BC/MBC), 18–37 years
(SC/ST); 21–37 years for Forest Guard/Watcher posts.
- Age Concessions:
- PwBD: +10 years (General: up to 42; Reserved: up to 44/47).
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 55 years for reserved categories; for Forest
Guard/Watcher posts, age calculated after deducting service period (max 32/37
years).
- Destitute Widows: Up to 37 years (General), 42 years (Reserved).
- No maximum age limit for BC/MBC/SC/ST candidates with qualifications higher
than SSLC for non-Forest posts.
- Maximum age limit means not exceeding 60 years as on 01.07.2025.
✅ Educational
Qualifications:
- Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant
(Non-Security/Security), Junior Revenue Inspector, Typist, Steno Typist, Field
Assistant, Forest Watcher: Minimum General Educational Qualification (SSLC/
10th Pass / Matriculation).
- Junior Executive (Office): Degree + Co-operative Training + Certificate
Course in Computer Office Automation (exempted for Computer Science/related
degree holders).
- Junior Assistant cum Typist, Typist (Specific Organizations): Degree +
Typewriting Higher (English/Tamil) and Lower (Tamil/English) + Computer Office
Automation (exempted for Computer Science/related degree holders).
- Steno Typist (Specific Organizations): Degree + Typewriting and
Shorthand Higher (English/Tamil) or mixed grades.
- Personal Clerk: Degree + Typewriting and Shorthand Higher in both Tamil
and English (or specified lower grades).
- Assistant: Degree + Computer Office Automation (exempted for Computer
Science/related degree holders).
- Forest Guard: Higher Secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology,
Zoology, or Botany.
- Forest Guard with Driving Licence: Higher Secondary (10+2) with relevant
subjects + valid driving licence + 3 years driving experience + basic
automobile knowledge + first aid certificate.
- Knowledge of Tamil: Mandatory; proven by SSLC/HSC/Degree with Tamil or
Tamil medium studies or Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil.
- All qualifications must be obtained by 25.04.2025 from recognized boards/
institutions.
✅ Physical Standards (for
Forest Guard/Watcher Posts):
- Male: Height: 163 cm (152 cm for ST); Chest: 79 cm
(normal), 5 cm expansion.
- Female/Third Gender: Height: 150 cm (145 cm for ST); Chest: 74 cm
(normal), 5 cm expansion.
- Forest Guard with Driving Licence (Vision without glasses): Distant
Vision: 6/6 (both eyes); Near Vision: 0.5 (Snellen); full field of vision; no
colour blindness, squint, or Lasik/Laser surgery.
- Certificates from Medical Officer (above Assistant Surgeon) and Eye
Specialist (for vision) required.
✅ Selection Process:
✔️ Written Examination:
Single-stage, objective-type (200 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours) with Part A
(Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test, 100 marks, 40% minimum), Part B (General
Studies, 75 marks), and Part C (Aptitude & Mental Ability, 25 marks). SSLC
standard.
✔️ Onscreen
Certificate Verification: Based on written exam marks and reservation rules
(1:3/1:2 ratio for most posts; 1:6 for Forest posts).
✔️ Physical
Standards Test & Endurance Test (Forest Guard/Watcher posts): Physical
standards verification; Endurance Test (25 km for males, 16 km for
females/third gender in 4 hours) conducted in Chennai.
✔️ Physical
Certificate Verification & Counselling: Final verification of original
documents; counselling for post allocation based on rank (ratios vary by post).
✔️
Ranking based on written exam marks; tie-breakers: higher qualification,
technical qualification (for Typist/Steno Typist), age, application submission
order.
✅ Application Fee:
✔️ One-Time Registration: ₹ 150/-
(valid for 5 years).

Examination Fee: ₹ 100/- per application.

Exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Destitute Widows; partial exemptions for BC/MBC (3 free

✅ How to Apply:
➢ Candidates must apply online
through the TNPSC website (www.tnpscexams.in) from 25.04.2025 to 24.05.2025
(11:59 PM).
➢ Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) before
applying; registered candidates can proceed directly.
➢ Select post options carefully (e.g., Forest
Guard/Watcher or other posts) in the application.
➢ Upload scanned copies of: passport-size photograph,
signature, SSLC/HSC/Degree mark sheets, Typewriting/ Shorthand/ Computer Office
Automation certificates, driving licence/experience certificate (for Forest
Guard with Driving Licence), physical standards/eye fitness certificates (for
Forest posts), Tamil knowledge proof, and category certificates.
➢ Pay the application fee online; verify all details
before submission.
➢ Retain a printed copy of the application and hall
ticket for future reference.
