Travelers won't be permitted to charge their mobile phones, Laptops and other electronic gadgets in trains between 11 pm to 5 am taking into account the new spate of fire occurrences in trains.
The Indian Rail lines has accepted this choice as a prudent
step, said the authorities.
The Western Railway previously put things moving on March 16
by slicing off supply to these charging ports.
The directions are, in any case, not new. In 2014, referring to a Commissioner of Railway Safety proposal, Railway Board had taught all zones to turn off charging focuses between 11 pm and 5 am, not long after a fire occurrence in the Bangalore-Hazur Sahib Nanded Express.
"Considering the new occurrences of fire, we have done
the needful. It is a careful step and surprisingly prior the Railway Board had
given such requests. The force from the primary switchboard for these focuses
will be turned off from 11 pm to 5 am," an authority said.
