Educational Qualification
Most posts require a Bachelor’s Degree from a UGC-recognised University. Some posts have specific preferences (Commerce, Law, Social Work, Computer Science, etc.).
Other Important Conditions
- Must possess adequate knowledge of Tamil
- Physical standards mandatory for Jailor posts
- Certain posts restricted by gender / religion / disability status

1. Common Preliminary Examination
Single Paper (Objective – OMR)
General Studies (Degree) + Aptitude & Mental Ability (SSLC) + Language (General Tamil / English) → 200 Questions | 300 Marks | 3 Hours

2. Main Examination – Group II
Paper I: Tamil Eligibility Test (Descriptive – SSLC) – 100 Marks
Paper II: General Studies (Degree – Descriptive) – 300 Marks

3. Main Examination – Group IIA
Paper I: Tamil Eligibility Test (Descriptive) – 100 Marks

- Link Aadhaar number (mandatory)
- Fill the online application carefully
- Upload recent photograph (taken on or after notification date) & signature as per specifications
